In August 1998, the project “APEC Network of Pharmaceutical
Regulatory Science –APEC Joint Research Project on Bridging
Study,” proposed by Chinese Taipei, was approved by APEC’s
Industry, Science and Technology Working Group (ISTWG).
In year 2000, the first Conference took place in Taipei.
Subsequent Conferences have been held in Taipei, Tokyo, and
Seoul. The main purpose of this Conference is to strengthen
the APEC network on pharmaceutical regulatory science, solve
pharmaceutical-related issues and foster better understanding
on new drug regulatory issues.
The 8th Conference of APEC Network on Pharmaceutical
Regulatory Science will take place in Taipei, Chinese
Taipei from November 2nd to 3th , 2009 at The Grand Hotel.
The 2009 conference is hosted by the Department of Health,
Chinese Taipei and is endorsed by APEC’s Industry, Science
and Technology Working Group (ISTWG).
The theme of the 2009 Conference is “Collaboration
in New Drug Development and Drug Safety.” Topics
that will be discussed in the two-day meeting include “Recent
Reform of Drug Regulatory Agency”, “Clinical Trials”, “Drug
Safety Beyond the Borders” and “Role of APEC in Regional Harmonization.”
Once again, this conference will be served as a platform to
facilitate the dialogues among pharmaceutical industries,
academia, and the health authorities within the APEC region.
Participants are invited to attend the meeting through registration.
